No, Il Pavone is not cheap but what you get is real value for money. Any menu combination is brilliant, be it mixed starters, local pasta, the freshest fish you'll ever see and taste and interesting Sardinian meat specialities. There is an abundance of decent and inexpensive wines but don't get carried away - some of them can burn a hole in your pocket! The owners should open a branch in London, just to show our greedy and overpriced "Sardinian" restaurants what is all about and how to do it. The service is professional yet unpretencious and cordial, with none of the usual "is everything OK?" every three minutes. I wish Il Pavone, his staff and its owners the very best for the future and look forward to revisit at the earliest opportunity.
